Annual Member Meeting
When: February 17, 2024 @Copper Queen in Helmville, MT
Cost: Free
Business meeting starts at 10:00 am. Lunch provided by Copper Queen at 12:00 - Agenda will be sent prior to the meeting. We encourage all new members or interested persons to come to the annual meeting. It is a great time to get to know people and figure out what will occur next year. Steadiness Clinic
When: April 6-7, 2024
Cost: $300 Individual, $100 Spouse
We have been lucky enough to secure Kyle Hough to lead a Steadiness Clinic in April 6-7, 2024. It will be held in Amsterdam, MT. Kyle passed 4 of 4 dogs he handled at the Invitational this year and also assisted several other Owner/Handlers in achieving a Pass. Even if you like what you have done or used for steadiness in the past, it would be worth attending to learn new ideas. He will share insights on training and testing throughout. This is an event for you, the handler, not your dog. We are asking for some folks with demo dogs, but please only offer if they will not be a distraction to you and if you are able to get value from the event and not be distracted by your dog. Invitational Handlers Clinic
When: June 15 - 16, 2024 (TWO-DAY Event)
Where: Missoula Buckhouse Training Grounds; 4285 Highway 93 South; Missoula, MT 59604
Cost: $265.00 Mail entry fee checks made out to Big Sky NAVHDA to: Jason Rice; 3017 Queen St; Missoula, MT 59801
NAVHDA Senior & Invitational Judge and NAVHDA President Tim Otto from New Jersey will be coming to facilitate this clinic. Attendees will learn about the NAVHDA Invitational test segments, scoring system, will observe dogs being run in the different segments, and engage in discussions about scoring. Training concepts will also be discussed. To attend this event, you MUST have handled a dog in a NAVHDA UPT or UT test. Preference will be given to Big Sky Members and those with a Prize 1 Utility Score in 2023.
Requesting a Special Event
If you would like to request the support or affiliation of the Big Sky NAVHDA Chapter for a 'Special Event or Seminar' please complete this form. Special Seminars & Events are defined as: Any event or activity associated with the Big Sky NAVHDA Chapter outside the normal scope of training days, tests, business meetings, or board meetings. The term 'Associated' would include, but be limited to: financial sponsorship, equipment usage, branding, landowner communications, email list, etc.
The Big Sky NAVHDA Chapter has adopted the policy that members will be notified directly and allowed a minimum of 2 weeks to sign up as priority. Non-members will be allowed to register but may not be guaranteed a spot until the 2 week wait period is completed.
